How Can One Get Hand Arthritis?
Its amazing how much we take our hands for granted, never realizing how useful they are to us in our daily activities. Because of this, when we experience hand arthritis, we are shocked as to how much not being able to use our hands properly can affect us. Besides the pain, the inconvenience can also hurt us.
As our hand joints swollen, each time we contract and flew our fingers pain can be felt and in reaction to this pain, we tend to refrain from using our hand. Because of this, we are unable to do our tasks especially if we rely so much on our hands to do them. This may include using the computer, playing a musical instrument, playing sports and many others.
Hand arthritis may result from numerous causes. One of the major causes would be the degeneration of our muscles, ligaments and tendons from constant use and from aging. We all know that as we age, all the pressure and stress we apply on our body will take its toll. This in turn can result to different conditions, like the hand arthritis.
Another cause of hand arthritis is injury to the area. Breaking your hand from a fall can damage the surrounding tissues and tendons and improper healing can result to pain and discomfort and eventually hand arthritis. In severe cases, surgery may be needed to correct the deformed healing. Usually though, giving the hand a rest and allowing the inflammation to go down will suffice. Taking pain killers and anti inflammation drugs can help as well.
